With sadness we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Percy Barry Houle on April 12, 2026 at the age of 57 years.

Percy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Edith Sumner; mother, Cecile Houle; children, Christina Murdock, Kathleen St. Paul, Tyrone Houle (Kaci), John St. Paul, Danny Houle, Desmond Houle and Kendrah Stagg; special grandson/son, Clifford Stagg; grandchildren, Decklyn, Bradey, Caleb, C.J., Mia, Carter, Cameron, Serenity and Tyra; mother in-law, Lorna Sumner; siblings, Dennis Houle, Allan (Valerie) Houle, Robert Houle (friend, Sharon) and Melva Maud; brothers and sisters in-law, Leonard (Reeva) Sumner, Sheldon Sumner, Cornelius Sumner, Jessica Sumner, Bernadette (Davey) Leveque and April Sumner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Percy was predeceased by his father, Raymond Flatfoot; brother, Marvin Houle (Mildred) and by his father in-law, Clifford Sumner.

Percy was a man who lived a life defined by hard work, a joyful spirit, and an unwavering devotion to God and family. In his younger years, Percy was the life of the party and a well-known breakdancer who effortlessly stole the show with his talent and energy. In his prime, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—hunting, playing cards, bingo, and horseshoes. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing in Dauphin River with his Neetah's, enjoying the peace of the water and the company of family.

However, Percy's greatest transformation came when he surrendered his life to Jesus. From that moment on, his passion was redirected toward the Lord. He spent his days playing guitar, singing, and traveling to share his faith. He was a man of action who never hesitated to help anyone in need, truly striving to reflect the love of God to every person he met.

Above all, Percy was a family man. He held a deep and special love for his wife, his children, and his brothers. He was a devoted son who made sure to check on his mother every single day, a testament to his caring nature. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Percy will be remembered most for his infectious smile and his legendary sense of humor. He was always joking around, making everyone laugh, and ensuring that those around him felt happy and loved. He was a funny, caring, and lighthearted soul who left a lasting impact on everyone who crossed his path.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of laughter, music, and faith will remain forever in our hearts.

In Tears
In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away,
You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay.
You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend,
But still you kept on fighting, Until the very end.
God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you, And whispered, “Come to Me.”
So when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain,
We could not wish you back, To suffer that again.

I’m Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following paths God made for me
I took his hand I heard him call
Then turned, and bid farewell to all
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace... at close of play
And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened... deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full I've savoured much
Good friends, good times
A loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with grief
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now... He set me free.
