With sadness we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Linda Ruth Sanderson, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, on March 5, 2026 at the age of 67 years.
Linda leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Colin Oliver Sanderson Sr.; children, Bobby Sumner, Lisa Sumner, Roberta McIvor, Lindsey Sumner, Hillary Sumner, Alexandra Sumner and Nicholas Sanderson Jr.; 30 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Mildred Woodford, Wilfred (Esther) Bruce, Betty Sinclair, Hector Sumner, Eric Sumner, Richard Sumner and Anthony Sumner; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Linda was predeceased by her daughters, Betty Sumner and Lovern Sumner; granddaughters, April Sumner and Linda Ruth Sumner; grandparents, Peter & Maggie Sumner and Alec & Mary Ida Bruce; brothers, Fred Sumner and Geoffrey Sumner; brother in-law John Woodford; and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Linda was born on October 9, 1958 in Ashern, Manitoba. She grew up in Fairford and raised her children there. She loved her family very much and was close to her grandchildren. We will always miss Mom’s bannock and soup. She would always try to help her family out with whatever they needed. She especially enjoyed driving, giving rides to her children, wherever they needed to go. She liked to cleaning up garbage and deliver water to people. Mom enjoyed jigging, singing karaoke and playing guitar. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by us all.
