Our mom Lily Anderson went to her heavenly home late Sunday evening January 4, 2026, peacefully departing her earthly residence at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home with her granddaughter Denise Beardy, by her side.
Lily was born and raised in Lake Saint Martin by her parents John James and Margaret Sinclair. She married Cubby Anderson on March 30, 1953, and together they raised their family in Fairford Mb.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Reverend John James Sinclair in 2000, her Mother Maggie, October 1967 and her beloved husband Cubby Anderson, May 2002. She was also predeceased by her sons Riley Anderson 2024, Bradly Aug 2019, and daughter Doreen, November 2019, son Alex Anderson and son Baby Anderson whom she has now met for the first time.. Lily cared for Doreen who had been born with severe Cerebral Palsy throughout her lifetime. She was bereaved of her brother William August 2020 and his wife Maggie Sinclair May 2022. The laughter they shared together in this life is now being heard in heaven. Lily also mourned the passing of a dear son in law Alvin Beardy January 2015. The doctors told us that the blow of so many losses probably caused the onset of dementia which eventually took her life.
Lily is survived by her daughters, Myrtle Anderson (Derrick), Marion Beardy, Olive Hourie, Freda Woodhouse (Raymond), Jeanie Beardy (Stewart), adopted daughter Nadia Anderson (Delaney), her sons Marvin Anderson, Oliver Anderson, Nestor Anderson and a beloved sister Barbara Woodhouse.
Mom loved family feasts with her children and their families always being the first in the food line. A born-again Christian mom loved to travel with our father to many different communities for gospel meetings worshipping and fellowshipping with many other believers.
Mom and Dad worked hard side by side to provide for their family, school bus driving, rice picking, sugar beets and Seneca root picking, Mom kept a very clean house and taught us all how to work.
She partook in her last communion officiated by her son in law Derrick in the care home. She wanted her good friend Gladys Moore and all the workers whom she loved teasing to partake with her. The workers from the care home loved our mother. When we went for the last time to clean out her room, they all came and hugged us expressing their sorrow and sharing stories of how mom teased them. The family wants them to know how grateful we are for them and their love for Lily.
The Family also wants to express thanks to the Chief and Council of Pinaymootang First Nation, Crystal Marsden for her donation, and all our friends and family who have expressed condolences to us, for your support. You were there when we needed you. Great big thanks to a special grand daughter Denise Beardy who was with Lily when she took her final breath. The love and care she showed her grand mother was very touching.
