Jane Pruden

Peacefully on January 26, 2026 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, our mother, kookoo, aunt, sister, great grandmother, cousin and friend, Jane Pruden passed away at the age of 79 years. 

Wake Service: Friday, February 6, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the House of Prayer, Fairford, Manitoba

Funeral Service: Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the House of Prayer, Fairford, Manitoba

Officiant: Pastor Wilfred Bruce

Interment: St. Helen’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Fairford, Manitoba

Jane was predeceased by her husband, William John Pruden (Boo Boo); her daughter, Doris Pruden; her sons, Henry and Andrew Philip Pruden; her sisters, Rose Poole and Marina Beardy; her granddaughters, Helen Pruden and Florence; her grandsons, Christopher and Daniel; as well as numerous other relatives.

Jane leaves to mourn her daughters, Harriet (Gerry) Pruden and Carrie Anderson; sons, Ernest (Crystal) Pruden and Samuel Pruden; granddaughters, Janice Cook (Garry), Jennifer Pruden, Doreen Swan; grandsons, Leslie Pruden, Ethan (Francheska) Pruden, Ricky (Andrea) Swan and her grandson, Leonard (Lushia) Pruden, whom she considered a son; her siblings, Orville Sinclair (Shigag), Beverly Sinclair and Johnny Balogney; her many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Jane was always willing to lend a helping hand with no questions asked.  She was a loving, caring, compassionate mother.   She loved to talk about her childhood.  We had a lot of laughs.  Mom liked to play bingo sometimes.  She also liked to go for walks to the parks and liked to shop for clothing. She liked going to Polo Park to eat pickerel.  And a lot more things she liked to do.

We had a tradition for mom, granny, great grandma (Jane).  Every birthday, on August 29th, we always got together for that day.  Thank you to Janice Cook and her husband, Garry for all the effort put in those years.

The family would like to thank the Pinaymootang Chief & Council; Grace Hospital for taking care of our dearest mother, grandma, great grandma.  And thanks to Anderson Family Funeral Home.

In Tears

In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away,
You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay.

You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend,

So when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain,
We could not wish you back, To suffer that again.

It Broke Our Hearts To Lose You

It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you, The day God called you home.

Though your smile is gone forever, And your hand we cannot touch,
We will never lose the memory, Of one we loved so much.

Thanks for the loving years you gave us, The happy times we shared,
We all pray that when you left us, You knew how much we cared.

Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.
