With her family by her side, Mom went home to be with Dad and the Lord on December 22, 2025.

Gloria is survived by her beloved children; Darby (Kendra), Cheryl (Albert), Julie (Anthony) and Norman; sisters, Violet Cochrane, Beverly (Jim) Sinclair, Phyllis Garson, Colleen (Lorne) Cochrane, Shawna Murdock; brothers, Carlson Murdock, Dennis (Joy) Murdock, Larry (Anita) Murdock, Winston Murdock and David (Linda) Murdock; as well as her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Derby Stevenson; parents, Winnie and Wilfred Murdock; sisters, Yvonne Stevenson and Mary Lou Cochrane; brother, Stanford Murdock.

Mom shared a special bond with her nieces and nephews, who she spoke fondly of.  Daily phone calls and texts was Mom’s thing.  Mom loved to play games and always had fun, waiting up those late nights to make sure we made it home, we will miss for sure.  The love and laughter she shared with them will never be forgotten.

Mom loved planning for her annual family reunion and looked forward to her family gatherings with her sisters, brothers, friends and family.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She would go out of her way to drive them around or drop off treats.  Cooking pizza for them was her favorite thing to do.

Driving her grandsons to hockey is what she loved to do.  She would sit outside the rink and wait until they were ready to go home.  If anyone needed anything, she would get up and do it.  Mom did that until her last days, even if it was a text or phone call to make sure everyone was home safe.

The family gives special thanks to Biggie and Tessa who were always

and Willow, who were our go to people. They always made sure Mom
had what she needed.  Uncle Carl was the other go to person during Mom’s sickness and we thank him for being there for us all.
Much appreciation for her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, staff at Percy E. Moore Hospital, Cancer Care Manitoba, Selkirk Hospital, Home Care nurse, Victoria Flett, palliative Care,
Roberta Flett, Carol Asham, Chuck Sutherland, Kendra Stevenson,
and everyone who was there for Mom

I’m Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following paths God made for me
I took his hand I heard him call
Then turned, and bid farewell to all
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace... at close of play
And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened... deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full I've savoured much
Good friends, good times
A loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with grief
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now... He set me free.
