It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, papa, son, brother, uncle, best friend, nephew, son in-law, cousin and friend, Colin Russell Houle (Beagy), who passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026 at the St. Boniface Hospital with his family by his side.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Meadow (Hunter), Autumn (Godswill), Ocean (Connor) and son Ritchie; his cherished granddaughters, Amirah (his big baby boss), Ahlani (his baby boss) and grandson Nathan and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his fourth grandchild expected in 2027 from Autumn; his best friend and mother of his children Jaime; his mother Melva; his father Russell (Melvina); his adoptive parents Gerald and Mabel Green; his siblings, Florence (Elijah), Katelyn (Benji) and Shawn; his many nieces and nephews, too many to mention; his aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents.

Colin was predeceased by his grandparents, Abraham and Lillius Houle, Colin and Marvel Sumner; his aunts and uncles, Norma Thomas, Rhoda Houle, Roseanne Porphy, Nelson Houle, Charles Monkman, John Sumner, Susan Letandre and Caroline Letandre; his cousins, Howard Jr Sanderson and Geri Houle (Thomas); his in-laws, C James Sumner and Farine Sumner.

Colin loved working, he worked many jobs throughout his life. Fire fighting, commercial fisherman, hunting, roofing, demolition, carpentry, plumbing, cleaning the church, yard work, housework. His younger years he trained to be a firefighter and worked wherever he was needed. He would also go fishing with his mom and dad in Chidic Lake, Inland Lake and Waterhen Lake. He also ventured out with his parents on many hunting trips. As he got older he learned and would often go hunting with friends. He worked in Winnipeg doing odd jobs. Such as demolition, roofing and construction. Also work in plumbing around the community. He worked in carpentry for many years, up until his passing. His parents instilled many work ethics throughout his life. He was always so grateful that he was taught at a very young age. He loved doing yard work, always made sure his family always had a beautiful clean yard. He was also given the duties to maintain the Fairford House of Prayer yard. He was so happy and so proud of that. He was so excited and said “feels so good clean God house and yard” His passion was cleaning, he's the kinda guy who would sweep and mop floors 2 or 3 times a day. He would often visit friends and would start doing their dishes or tidying up their place.

Whenever someone needed his help, he was always there to lend a helping hand. Many times you'd never have to ask, he was always willing to help in any way he could. He was not the kind of guy to sit back and relax, he always kept busy. He never asked for anything in return. He was a great cook, he would cook most of the food on birthdays and special occasions.

He met Jaime in December 1999. They shared a life together for 22 years. Together they had and raised three daughters Meadow, Autumn, Ocean and was blessed with a son Ritchie in 2019. Colin was a wonderful and loving dad, had a special bond with his children. He always tried his best to be there for them in any and every way he can. He called Meadow his “HoneyBee” they were truly best friends, they told each other everything. Would lift each other up. Would offer words of encouragement to another. Autumn was his “Gus Gus” he called her my strong one, he always said she was so humble and said she was the one to always do things on her own, never asked for help. He called her my smartest baby. As for Ocean he called her my “Oshee” My bossy baby, they were so close. She made him go to school with her for most of grade one. They went on the school bus and came home on the bus everyday. He really enjoyed being with her, he said I'm gonna go with my baby everyday until she gets use to it. She got use to it, but I think he continued to go with her because he just missed her. Ritchie was his boss, he spoiled him. They did everything together, always took him for walks. They shared movie nights, or would go make fire for outside tea.

Colin was so grateful for Rick & Monica for sharing their baby son with us all these years. Colin loved his family deeply and tried his best to be a good dad and a good provider. They had their ups and downs, and tried to make the best of what they had. They decided after 22 years that they would part and go their own ways. They remained best friends, respected and loved each other. They always talked and helped each other in many ways. They made it work for their children.

In 2025 Colin got the news that he was going to become a papa. He cried tears of joy. All he could think of was I'm gonna be the best papa I can be. He had many dreams and many plans. A fews months after finding out he was going to be a papa, he found out he was going to have another grand baby. He cried again and said I'm so happy I'm not only gonna have one grand baby, but going to have two grand babies. He said wow I'm gonna spoil them, they're going to be my everything. When his first grand daughter Amirah was born he cried tears of pure joy. He went and bought her everything a baby needs. All he did was carry her saying I can't believe I'm a papa. “This love I have in my heart for my grand baby is so different from the love I have for my kids I can't explain it, I just feel so complete” Five months later he was blessed with a second grand daughter Ahlani, when he first met her he cried and said I'm gonna spoil you my baby boss.

Every chance he got he would carry his grand babies. He did so much for them, always helped by feeding them, changing them giving them baths. Amirah and Ahlani were his pride and joy. He love them so deeply. He had so much plans and would often say “my babies are gonna fight over papa” He would come over almost every single morning to sweep and mop floors for them to crawl and walk around. Then would make the babies something to eat, before they would wake up. He would let their moms sleep in and that was his bonding time with his grand daughters. He was so proud of his grand daughters, would always take pictures and send them to us.
Before his passing he got the chance to witness his daughter Autumn getting married and gained a son in law. It was such an emotional day for him and got another surprise that day, after the ceremony of his daughter. She told him that he was going to be a papa again in 2027. Sadly his life with us was shortened and God had other plans for him.

On October 24, 2025 Colin surrendered his life to God. He wanted to change his life around for his family and importantly himself. He would often go to church with his family. When he attended church he gained new brothers n sisters in the lord. He said hearing testimonies of others inspired him, it gave him the courage to take step closer to God. He loved attending church services here and around the surrounding communities. He would tell us it felt good to travel for the lord. When he surrendered his life he said he felt nothing but peace and joy in his heart. He felt nothing but happiness, all the heaviness he carried in his heart was all gone away.

Colin loved Gospel Music and played guitar. He would always pick up the guitar and play it for Jaime, together they sang many songs to their kids and grand children. Everything he did in life was always for his family. As time went on distractions came along and slowly drifted away from God. He was sad that he fell away. He would say I know Jesus is still living in my heart and is always on my mind. I will find my way back to him. He found his way back to Jesus, but without us.

A Heart Of Gold
A heart of gold stopped beating,
Hardworking hands went to rest,
God took you home to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

We will always remember the way you looked,
The way you walked and smiled,
All the things you did for us,
Will be with us all the while.

You lived your life for those you loved,
Your children taught and grown,
He called to you to come and dwell,

When I Lost You
By Author Unknown
I wish I could see you one more time
Come walking through the door
But I know that is impossible
I will hear your voice no more.
I know you can feel my tears
And you don't want me to cry
Yet my heart is broken because
I can't understand why
someone so precious had to die.
I pray that God will give me strength
And somehow get me through
As I struggle with this heartache
That came when I lost you.
Where no more work is done.
