Bill
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, papa, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend, Bill Chartrand,
aged 67 years. Surrounded by family, he passed away peacefully at St. Boniface hospital in Winnipeg.
To cherish Bills memory, he leaves to mourn, his longtime companion, Barb Nepinak, his children, Crystal, Charlene (Roddy), Travis, Pudgy (Chantel); his nonbiological children A.J. & Chasity whom he took as his own; Grandchildren, Billie (Jonny), Hayden, Meadow, Shanelle, Jazzy, Dayton, Tristan, Dayus, Coltin, Wanda, Leah, Jaitanna, Maverick & Malachi; his mother Mabel; brothers Floyd (Marion), Steve, Thomas (Cherise), Ernest (Tammy) and sister Marie (John); Aunts Delia & Janet; Brother-in-laws Nestor & Fabian; His ex-wives Carol and Sheila (step-children & step-grandchildren); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Bill was predeceased by his son Justin; dad Louis; Paternal grandparents, Walter & Louisa; Maternal grandparents, Donald & Catherine; Sisters, Gloria and Tracey; Brother Chris; Sister-in-law Norma; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives & friends.
Bill was born and raised in Camperville, MB, where he attended school until the age of 14. At 14, he went into the bush and started working with his dad and relatives. During this time, he acquired skills in the area of Logging and Carpentry. He gained an interest in Carpentry especially, and went on to become one of the best, especially known for framing and his fearlessness of heights. Along the way he learned from many people, he especially loved to mention the many skills in carpentry he learned from his best friend Donald.
In his adult years he met Barb, they started their family and moved to Winnipeg, this is where he remained for the next 30-ish years. He met his ex-wife Carol during his time in Winnipeg, they started a family as well. It was at this time that he found Christianity and devoted the rest of his life to his Lord.
In 2010, Bill decided to move back home to Camperville & Pine Creek, this is where he remained to live the rest of his life. During this time, he met his ex-wife Sheila and created a special bond with her children and became Papa to the grandchildren.
Bill loved being a dad and a grandfather, he cherished the time he had with them and was known for spoiling them with sweets and outings. Bill cherished all his family & friends; he was very protective and would help anyone he could.
Wake Service: Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
Prayers at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service: Friday, December 12, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. with meal to follow.
Services will take place at the Camperville Hall.
Officiant:
Pastor Ken Parenteau
Cremation will follow the services with interment at a later date.
